Jason Rankin is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and Managing Principal at Strong Valley Wealth & Pension. A Fresno native and graduate of California State University, Fresno, Jason began advising in 2004 when he joined his father to build a client-first practice that later became part of Strong Valley. For more than two decades he has guided successful families and business owners through complex planning decisions with clarity and steady execution.
Jason serves as each client’s wealth strategist. Strategy comes first. He works with clients to define the life they want, calculate the capital it takes to fund it, and then design a coordinated plan across taxes, estate structure, investments, and cash flow. He routinely partners with clients’ CPAs and attorneys to align Roth conversion schedules, charitable tools such as donor advised funds and charitable remainder trusts, trust design, and business or real estate transitions.
On investments, Jason believes the portfolio should serve the plan. He favors quality, durability, and tax awareness. That often includes tilting to strong balance sheets and dependable cash flows, maintaining a disciplined rebalancing process, and keeping costs and taxes low where possible. For clients nearing or in retirement, he emphasizes predictability and downside management. For younger clients and business owners, he is open to selective growth opportunities within a prudent risk budget.
Most clients come to Jason within ten years of retirement or after a major event such as a business sale, inheritance, or liquidity from real estate. They value having one point of accountability who coordinates the moving parts and keeps the plan on track through changing markets and laws.
Jason has deep roots in Fresno and enjoys an active lifestyle. Outside the office he spends time training, coaching his boys, and traveling with his wife, Kailyn, and their sons, Dane and Decker.
Nobody can control the market, let alone tomorrow. But at Strong Valley you know that you always have someone in your corner looking out for what’s the very best for you.
