Why have you decided to join Strong Valley?

  • Working with the team at Strong Valley provides even greater support and opportunities to serve my clients. I can work to source the best technology and tools and provide you with the customized plans and services I promise my clients.
  • Strong Valley Wealth & Pension, combined with their infrastructure support of Integrated Financial Partners (“Integrated”) and the custodial account services of Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. (“Schwab”), is the most robust structure for meeting the strongest ideals of preserving my clients’ best interests.

Why Now?

I am committed to finding the best long-term structure for my clients, and I believe that being a part of a Registered Investment Advisory (“RIA”) is in my clients’ best interest. This move brings the benefit of larger team support and access to new resources.

Why didn't you tell us it was going to happen?

Legally, I am not allowed to pre-solicit clients for the new firm. Upon resignation, I can contact my clients and explain the numerous benefits of Strong Valley Wealth & Pension and help transfer their accounts to the new firm.

What are the benefits for my family and me?

  • In addition to new tools and technology, I will have the ability to provide you with a broader range of advice and financial information.
  • Strong Valley shares and supports the values of client transparency and a commitment to long-term relationships. Moving into the role of Senior Wealth Manager and being a part of a larger team enables me to better focus on your needs as a client.

What will be your relationship with Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. ("Schwab") and Integrated Financial Partners (“Integrated”).?

  • Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. (“Schwab”) will be our custodian and will hold your assets. Schwab, a subsidiary of The Charles Schwab Corporation, is one of the leading custodians for independent investment advisors. Schwab supports over 7,500 firms with over $1.5 trillion in client assets and has been working with independent advisors for over 30 years.
  • Integrated Financial Partners, Inc. (“Integrated”) provides back-office services such as financial compliance, archiving of data, billing, regulatory filings, etc. This allows the Strong Valley team to focus on clients’ needs.
  • Both Schwab and Integrated work for Strong Valley, and thus they work for my clients. We all are working for you.

Will there be regulatory oversight of my assets?

Absolutely. As an SEC Registered Investment Advisor, I am subject to SEC rules mandating matters such as disclosures of conflicts, recordkeeping and business conduct. I am also subject to its oversight and inspection program. As a fiduciary, I am held to the highest standards of trust and confidence, meaning I am legally required to follow prudent investor practices and seek solutions that are in the best interests of all my clients.

Will the new firm be as capable of serving my financial needs as you have always been?

Absolutely. It is important to note that nothing will change with the service and support you have come to know and the guidance you have come to trust and value. The move to Strong Valley Wealth & Pension further enhances my ability to serve you.

How will this move directly affect me?

Over time, I believe you will notice the positive changes because of my increased capabilities, access to resources, the value Strong Valley brings to its community of clients. There will be some initial paperwork, but you can rest easy knowing that I will continue to be the primary point of contact in providing you with the same advice you have come to know and trust.

How will this impact my investments? My financial plan?

Your investments and financial plans will continue to be looked after by me, just as I have cared for them over the past years. However, I will now have access to a broader array of support and resources to meet your needs.

Can I expect the same level of communication from you going forward?

Yes! I’ll be communicating with you proactively and meaningfully, as I always have; and I will reach out to you with updates and other information as I continue to evolve my wealth management products and services.

What do I need to do now, if anything?

You will receive a docusign packet with the paperwork to switch investment firms from von Berge Wealth to Strong Valley in the next couple of days. I will explain the process in more detail when we speak.

How long will my accounts take to transfer over, and how will I know when it's done?

As soon as you complete the docusign to move the assets, it usually takes about 4-5 business days to complete. Under special circumstances, it could take longer but I’ll be in contact with you every step of the way.

What happens to all my account history? Will my cost basis transfer?

All account history and cost basis will transfer over.

Will my account numbers change?

No. Your accounts will stay as they are at Schwab. The only thing we are updating is the investment firm who has access to your accounts.

The advisor calling you works for the old firm. The old firm holds your assets and they believe they own your relationship until you begin the transfer process.

What happens to my accounts if something happens to you?

I don’t plan on going anywhere for 25+ years, but in the tragic occurrence that something happens to me during that period, your accounts would remain intact and unaffected at Schwab. I have partnered with other advisors here and you could continue working with them or find a new advisory team with the same knowledge, commitment, and high standard of care we aim to provide through Strong Valley Wealth & Pension.

How and when will my accounts be billed?

Accounts will be billed in the same fashion, quarterly in the first month of the quarter.

When does this change become official?

It’s official! I’ll be contacting you personally, in short order, to discuss all of this with you in as much detail as you’d like.
